Madeline L. Sisbower

Madeline L. Sisbower, age 100, of Cuyler, NY and formerly of Rome, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2016.

Madeline was born on March 8, 1916 in Detroit, MI to the late John and Emma Royal Naegele. At the age of seven, she moved to Rome where she lived a vast majority of her life. She was united in marriage to Edward J. Sisbower on May 3, 1941; a blessed union of 48 years until his passing on October 1, 1989.

She was an active member of St. Mary's Church in Rome and the Rome Chapter of TOPS. Madeline also belonged to the Rome Art and Community Center, where she understudied Penny Simon, to whom Madeline attributes her growth in art and her joyful participation in Penny's circle of friends. Madeline left Rome to live near her nephew, Willard F. Wyman and his family in 2008, and following a brief time on her own, has lived with them since 2009.

God blessed us with Madeline's positive, enthusiastic spirit and youthful attitude. She was faithful to keep in touch with her circle of friends and always lent an agreeable, listening ear to her guests, whoever they may be.

Madeline is survived by her nephews, Willard F. (Cindy) Wyman; Robert Wyman; her niece, Marjorie C. Wyman Knight; great nieces, Sarah (Timothy), Hannah, Naomi (Thomas), Ellen (Jesse), and Nicole (Chris); great nephew, Robert (Samantha); great, great nieces and nephews, Teall, Declan, John, Samantha, Robbie, Casius, Alexis and Abby; and her dearest friends, Esther Metzger, Kit Gardner and Donna Pfeiffer.

We shall all miss her deeply and with grateful hearts.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 AM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM.
