Lysle A. Parker II, age 84, of Rome, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, at Oneida Healthcare.
Lysle was born in Rome on September 4, 1941, to the late Lysle and Alberta Bacon Parker and graduated from Westmoreland Central School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1965, having served most of his time in Cheyanne, WY. On April 24, 1965, he was united in marriage to the former Priscilla Potocki at Transfiguration Church; a blessed union of over 59 years until her passing on September 29, 2024. Lysle worked in the lab at Revere Copper until his retirement.
Lysle was a lifetime member of the Tappet Twirlers Automobile Club in Rome. He was an automobile, plane, and train enthusiast.
Lysle is survived by his son, Lysle (Corena) Parker III of Whitesboro; his daughter, Nadine (Eric) LaFayette of New Hartford; his two granddaughters, Nicole (Michael) Scarafile, and Kadence LaFayette; his three sisters, Nancy (John) Shepherd, Susan VandenHeuvel, and Carolyn Wilsey; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Betty (George) Hutchison; half-brother, James McCarron; and brothers in law, Leonard VandenHeuvel and Bud Wilsey.
Funeral services will be private.
