Louise (Weazer) Burns Floyd, NY
Louise Ann Burns, age 62, fell victim to cancer and passed from this life on April 20, 2011, at home, with her loving husband at her side.
She was born in Toronto, Canada on January 16, 1949, a daughter of Donald and Barbara Dowling Barnes and the second eldest of 12 children. At various times in her entrepreneurial career, Weazer was a secretary, fashion consultant, newspaper publisher, fiction writer, and business owner. In 2003 she met her future husband, Bob, on match.com and, the following year, moved to the United States to share his life in Floyd, NY. Her cheerful disposition and brilliant smile made her an instant friend to everyone, and she especially enjoyed talking to the passersby who stopped to comment on the beauty of her flowers. She also enjoyed crafts, and made many artistic latch-hook rugs for friends and family.
Besides her loving husband Bob, Louise is survived by sons David and Stephen, mother Barbara, granddaughters Kristina, Kelsey, and Jaymie, and siblings Wayne, Sam, John, Gordon, Deborah, Susan, Mathew, Michael, Christopher, Timothy and Ben David, plus respective in-laws. Final arrangements have been entrusted to Barry Funeral Home;
Friends of Louise and Bob are invited to a memorial service on Thursday, April 28, 2011, at 6:00 PM, at Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Toronto.
