Louis John Macalik, Jr., age 46, of Rome, passed away December 16, 2010, in Savannah, GA, after a brief illness.
John was born January 25, 1964, in Minot, North Dakota, a son of Louis John and Dora M. Boffi Macalik, and graduated from Rome Free Academy. He was employed as a Materials Control Specialist for NCI Inc., of Rome.
John loved working in his yard, the outdoors and animals. All of his dogs are rescued dogs from the Humane Society. He also enjoyed gun collecting and restoration, and target shooting.
John is survived by his longtime companion, Lynne Rasha; a sister and brother in law, Michelle and Michael Bridges of Whiting, ME; a brother and sister in law, Michael and Jodi Macalik of Rome; three nieces, Kayleigh, Toni and Justine; Lynne's sons, Bernie, Zachary and Jared Rasha; and several loving cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; aunts and uncles, Angeline Spada, Louis Boffi, Annette Boffi and Julio and Marge Boffi.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 7:00 PM, at Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Wednesday 4 to 7 PM, prior to the funeral service.
