Obituary

Linda M. (Schultz) Granger, 80, of Taberg, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at home, following a brief illness, with her loving family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Walter "Bud" and Mildred (Holden) Schultz.

Linda was born in Rome on January 2, 1946, and graduated from RFA. On September 25, 1965, she was united in marriage to William "Bill" Granger. Together they raised four children. After their children were grown, they purchased West Lee Grocery and ran it until it closed in 2000. After losing her husband of 40 years in 2005, she worked as an assistant manager at Nice & Easy until retiring in 2016.

She was an avid crafter with a lifelong passion for knitting, crocheting and sewing.

Linda is survived by her children: Scott (Shelley), Sheley (James), Terri (John) and Jennifer; nine grandchildren: Hayden, Becca (Anthony), Brett, Reagan, Jacob, Kade (Margaret), Payge, Will and Kohl; three great grandchildren: Addy, Lucas and Nasir; her sister: Donna (George); and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Bill; her parents; her in-laws, William and Margaret Granger; and her brothers, Ronald "Whitey" and Bruce Schultz.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, 3-5 p.m. at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, Rome, with a service to follow. A celebration of life will be at the Lee Legion following the service. Private burial will be in the spring at Maple Hill Cemetery in Taberg.
