Laura A. Diters, age 57, of Williamstown, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2014, at home, after a long battle with ALS.
Laura was born in Rome on August 20, 1956 to the late Beverly "Bud" and Ernestine Petsch Jones. She graduated from Rome Free Academy and received her Bachelor's Degree from Utica College. She was united in marriage to Richard Diters on July 19, 1986 in Rome. Laura worked as a billing/coding specialist for the Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists.
Laura was a member of the American Paint Horse Association and the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).
Laura is survived by her loving husband, Richard; a daughter and her fiance´, Jessica Diters and Rob Alexander of Oswego; a son and his fiance´e, Justin Diters and Katie Van Auken of Williamstown; a grandson, Brayden F. Alexander; three sisters and brothers in law, Patty and David Massage of Chenango Forks, NY, Sheryl and Richard Woodcock of Verona, and Pam and Robert Johnson of Allen, TX; a brother and sister in law, Michael and Bonnie Cardinal Jones of Rome.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 30, at 5 PM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Rome Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 to 5 PM, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Association Upstate New York Chapter, 890 Seventh North Street, Suite 108, Liverpool, New York 13088.
