Kenneth Lyle Pelton, 88, of Rome, died Monday, February15, 2010 at the Rome Hospital. He was born in Taberg, New York the son of the late Morton and Daisy Pelton. Mr. Pelton was a graduate of Rome Free Academy in 1939. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II. He was a life member of the Rome Elks Lodge and a member of the VFW Post #2246. Mr. Pelton was a volunteer fireman for the Rome Volunteer Fire Department. He walked and raised funds for the March of Dimes and was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Paul's Church for many years. Mr. Pelton retired from Griffiss Air Force Base where he worked as an electronic technician.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Susan Pelton of Rome, New York, his sister: Betty Riegler, Gladys (Fred) Jackson and sister-in-law Kay DeSimone all of Rome, and several nieces and nephews, especially Colleen and Michael Dunn of Rome.
Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Church. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery.
