Kenneth D. Dukett, 89, of Rome, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2026, at Rome Health Residential Health Care Facility. He was born to the late Herbert and Ruby (Lanfair) Dukett on April 29, 1937, in South New Berlin, NY.

On October 7, 1955, Ken married his childhood sweetheart, Eleanor J. Baker, in Vernon Center, NY. Together, they shared 49 years of marriage and raised their family before Eleanor's passing in May 2004.

Ken was a kind and generous man who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He never forgot his humble beginnings and took great pride in the life he built for his family. Some of his happiest memories were made outdoors with Eleanor and their children. The family spent many days camping and picnicking together, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

Ken continued to enjoy the outdoors throughout his life. In his later years, he could often be found walking along nature trails or the beach. He took great pride in his home, especially renovating and landscaping it. He also looked forward to solving the Sunday crossword puzzle with his sister-in-law, Norma.

Ken worked at Rome Strip Steel for 38 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Rome Elks Lodge #96 and the American Legion SAL Post 1794 in Lee Center.

Ken's greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his five children: Kenneth (Pamela) Dukett Jr. of Charleston, SC; Barbara (Peter) Pascucci of Port St. Lucie, FL; Cynthia (Christopher) Crolius of Boonville, NY; Nancy Dukett of Lee Center, NY; and Ann (Andrew) Mackie of Gardner, MA. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his longtime companion, Margaret Owens; his sister, Evelyn Come; his brother-in-law, Fritz Baker; his sister-in-law, Ellen Dukett; and special friends Rick White and Robert Morczek. He was predeceased by his brothers, Jim, Howard, Earl, Lynn, Lloyd, Harold, and Carl, as well as his sisters, Doris LaClair and Helen Walker.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
