Kathleen M. Hojnacki, age 84, of Rome, passed away on August 7, 2025, at Bethany Gardens with her loving family by her side. Her life was filled with love, hard work, and a deep devotion to family and friends. She was a wonderful mother who was always there to offer support, wisdom, and love in abundance. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and strength.
Kathleen was born in Rome, on November 19, 1940, to the late William and Gladys Bridgeman Hojnacki. She attended school in Rome and graduated from RFA in 1958. Kathleen worked many jobs and finally retired from the State of New York in 2002. She was an animal lover and supported the R-CATS program in Rome. Kathleen also enjoyed spending time with her sisters.
Surviving are her children, Karen (Gary), and Danny (Sharon). She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Tanya (Michael), Gary (Kate), Danny (Jellisa), Crystal, Anthony, and Dalton; and her 11 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Margaret, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Roy Jay Hall, Jr., a grandson, Roy Jay Hall III; her sister and best friend, Judith Hyde; and her brother, Richard Hojnacki.
In keeping with Kathleen's wishes, there will be no calling hours.
The family would like to thank everyone at Bethany Gardens for the kind and compassionate care she received during her stay there, especially the 5th and 6th floor staff that became her friends as well as her caregivers.
Kathleen was kind to everyone so in lieu of flowers and in her memory, smile at a stranger, reach out to a relatives or friend, and/or forgive someone. All random acts of kindness are appreciated.
