Kathleen M. Armstrong

Kathleen "Kathie" M. Armstrong, age 71, of Remsen, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2025, at Albany Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Kathie was born in Utica on September 29, 1953, to the late George and Dorothea Schuff Biggs and graduated from Utica Free Academy. On May 8, 1976, she was united in marriage to Gary Armstrong. She worked as a claims adjuster for over 30 years at Utica National Insurance.

Kathie enjoyed spending time with her family, whether that was at the family camp or the local watering hole, she could be found with a smile on her face and beer in her hand. She also enjoyed listening to music and tending to her pets, Riley, Jessie, Sassy, and Rufus. She was a member of the Westernville Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

Kathie is survived by her loving husband, Gary; her daughter, Sarah (Corey) Graveline of Floyd; her sister, Jenni Biggs; her brother, Tim (Gloria "Glo") Biggs; her sister-in-law, Laurie (Andy) Shepland; her brother-in-law, Chris Armstrong; her nieces and nephews, Dorothea Biggs, Brianna (Dillon) Bourgeois, Jenny (Kurt) Buchholz, and Amanda Biggs; several great nieces and nephews; and many cousins. She was predeceased by an infant brother, Scott Biggs; and her nephew, Peter Biggs.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 25, at the Westernville Legion, beginning with a short service at 4:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Westernville Fire Department.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
