Canfield, age 83, of Rome, passed away unexpectedly on May 13, 2023, at MVHS-St. Elizabeth’s Campus.Julia was born in Rome on July 18, 1939 to the late Clarence and Blanche Burkhart Roe, and educated in the Rome Schools. She worked as a therapy aide for the Rome DDSO. She loved to sew and made her own curtains. She lived for her family and they were her pride and joy.Julia is survived by her daughters, Robin Canfield and Christine Canfield both of Rome; her grandchildren, Clarence (Jess) III, and Crystal; her great grandchildren, Autumn, Christine, Gabriel, Eric, Liam, and Emmit; her brother, George Roe; her nieces, Laura, Julia, and April; her nephew, George Roe, Jr.; and several great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Richard, Sam, John, Robert, Howard, and Philip; and a niece, Roxanne Roe.Funeral services will be held on Friday at 3 PM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 1 to 3 PM prior to the service.
