Josephine L. Fragapane, age 85, of Rome, passed away peacefully at home, March 31, 2013, with her loving family by her side.
She was born on April 25, 1927 in Rome, to the late Dominick and Domenica Appollani Yazzi. She attended the Rome Schools. On February 16, 1946, she married Sam E. Fragapane at the Church of St. John the Baptist in Rome. Sam passed away on March 22, 1998.
Josephine was a member of St. Paul's Church. Her whole life revolved around her family and she enjoyed entertaining her family, especially her grandchildren, during the holiday seasons.
She is survived by two daughters and two sons in law, Gwendolyn and Daniel Abbis and Debra and William Kaveney, all of Rome; son and daughter in law, Sam, Jr. and Tracy Fragapane of Orlando, FL, grandchildren, Drs. Daniel J. and Stacey Abbis of N.H., Eric S. and Allison Abbis of CA, John and Dr. Amanda Kaveney of N.J., David Kaveney of Rome, Lauren, Deidre, and Sam III Fragapane of FL; great grandchildren, Marissa and Luke Abbis; and one sister, Louise Marcoccia of Rome. She was predeceased by sisters and brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, April 3 at 1:30 PM at St. Paul's Church. There will be no calling hours.
Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
