Martin passed away on April 24, 2023, after a long illness during which he was cared for by his loving wife, Janine.Joe was born in Rome, on July 25, 1940.  In the late 1940s, his mother, Mary (Iodice) and his stepfather, Henry Nicolella moved to Syracuse. Joe went to Syracuse University and majored in business. He also served in the National Guard.  After graduating from SU, Joe went to work for Koret of California.  He lived in Cincinnati and New Orleans before moving to Los Angeles. He often returned to Rome to visit his parents and the many aunts and uncles that he loved.On November 6, 2015, Joe married Janine (Hamilton). A year later, he and Janine moved to Prescott, Arizona. In his later, years Joe developed an interest in writing and worked on novels and scenarios.     Joe had a son Derek who met a tragic early death in 2007.  Joe coped bravely with this terrible loss, but it was a continuing sadness. They are together now.  Joe is also predeceased by his stepfather, Henry in 1975; his mother, Mary in 2007; and his stepson, Clarence “Brother” Adams. Surviving is his wife, Janine; his brother, Henry A. Nicolella; and his stepson, Randy Adams.A graveside service on May 16 at 9 AM at St. John’s Cemetery.Arrangements are entrusted to the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
