Joseph Deptola

Joseph "Joe" Deptola, age 64, of Rome, passed away on April 30, 2025, at the Wynn Hospital.

Joe was born in Utica, on February 5, 1961, to Donald and Marlene Morris Deptola. He worked as a carpenter and was recently employed with Mac Contracting in Rome. He found the love of his life in Kristine Danielski, and the two had shared a bond that was like no other for over 47 years. He was an avid NASCAR fan and fond of the Ford Mustang. He was a handy man, had a big heart, and was willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Joe was also a member of the Stanwix Men's Club.

Joe is survived by the love of his life, Kristine; his mother, Marlene; his step-son, Jason Danielski; his step-daughter, Melissa Danielski; several step-grandchildren and great grandchildren; his sister, Therese (Bill) Lyons; his brothers, Lawrence "Larry," Paul, and Glen Deptola; Kristine's siblings, Kathy Mulkey, Karen (Mark) Consiglio, Diane Ellenberg, Edwin (Sue) Danielski, Joelle (Chuck) Stevenson, and Lori Monahan; his uncle and aunt, Ron and Pam Moljewski; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins, including his special cousins, Danny and Lori Deptola. He was predeceased by his father, Donald; Kristine's parents, Beverly and Edward Danielski; and Kristine's brother, Daniel Danielski.

Joe's funeral service will be held on Thursday, starting at 6 PM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
