View Tribute Book Jose Colon, age 58, of Rome, passed away peacefully at home on November 30, 2024.Jose was born on January 16,1966, in Brooklyn, to the late Ceferino and Julia Cardenales Colon. Despite the challenges he faced with his disability, Jose lived his life with courage and unwavering strength, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him. A resident of the West Chestnut IRA, he was known for his resilience, his warm smile, and his ability to share joy with those around him. Jose enjoying relaxing with a warm blanket, music and the many staff who adored him attention. Jose's smile was huge, and could be seen whenever a familiar voice was giving him attention. Jose was adored by many who cared for him throughout the years, he will be missed dearly by all.  Jose is survived by 10 siblings, Anna, Wilfredo, Luis, Lydia, Miguel, Cefarino Jr, Delsy, Angel, Norma, Xiomara, and Manual. Jose's sister Anna and brother Wilfredo wish to thank the staff that cared for their brother throughout the years for the love, dedication and care they gave him throughout his over 20 years of residing with CNYDSO. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 12, at 11 AM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W.
