She was born on July 20, 1935, a daughter of George and Elizabeth Amann Roser. Joanne graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1953. On August 20, 1955, Joanne was united in marriage to Herman E. Reams, Jr. in St. Mary's Assumption Church in Rome. Prior to starting her family, Joanne held a clerical position at Rome Manufacturing.While in high school, Joanne worked at the White Eagle Bakery and often reminisced about the job. One of the perks was receiving free baked goods, which led to a lifelong love of jelly donuts. Joanne bowled in the Rome Manufacturing Bowling League for many years and enjoyed the friendship of her teammates. Shopping was another favorite activity that she shared with her sisters and daughters. Joanne and Herm enjoyed eating out and taking rides. Joanne spent many happy hours sitting on her front yard bench with her Yorkshire Terrier, Perky. She enjoyed having the neighborhood children visit and speaking with neighbors out for a walk. Joanne was thoughtful and generous, always thinking of others.Surviving besides her loving husband of sixty-six years, Herm, are her daughters, Susan Fruin of Rome and Renee (Joe Brin) Kittleman of Syracuse; her sister, Irene Meier of Rome; and several nieces and nephews. Joanne was predeceased by her son-in-law, James Fruin; her cherished Yorkshire Terrier, Perky; two sisters, Eleanor Slaga and Marguerite Toepp; her brothers, John Roser and Raymond Roser; three brothers-in-law, Alfred Meier, Mike Slaga and Vincent Toepp; and a sister-in-law, Suzanne Roser.In keeping with Joanne's wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.
