Jeannette M. Ward, age, 68, of Cleveland, NY, passed away September 19, 2009, with her loving family at her side.
She was born, November 12, 1940, in Rome, a daughter of Joseph H. and Estella Irene Smith LaSalle, and educated in Rome schools. Jeannette was united in marriage to Charles M. Ward in 1967; he died in 1991. She was a LPN and worked at Rome Memorial Hospital and later for the CNYDSO in Rome, retiring years ago. She enjoyed volunteering at many events at the Erie Canal Village over the years. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Rome.
Jeannette is survived by a daughter and her fiance´ Gina Giachetti and Willard Kitchen of Cleveland; three sisters and brothers in law, Sandra and Ted Lince of Lee Center, Julie and Chet Andrewski of Taberg, and Gail and Robert Allen of Rome; a brother and sister in law, John and Liz LaSalle of Rome; grandchildren, Darryl M. Stivers and his wife, Rebecca, and Willard Kitchen; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Darryl A. Giachetti in 1965, and two brothers, Ronald H. LaSalle and Roger A. LaSalle, both in 1955.
A memorial Mass will be held Thursday at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Church in Rome. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
