Jean M. "Meyer" Dunn

Jean M. Dunn, age 86, of Rome, passed away July 16, 2012 at Loretto Health and Rehab in Syracuse, after a long illness. Jean was born in Rome on December 12, 1925 to Herman and Clara MacFarlane Meyer. She graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1943. She worked in the admissions office at Rome Memorial Hospital for many years, retiring on July 1, 1985.



Jean was united in marriage to Richard A. Dunn on August 17, 1946 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Rome. He passed away in June of 2002.



Jean was a member of the Butternut Twigs, AARP, and the Ava Dorfman Senior Citizens Center. She was also an active Catholic and attended mass at St. Paul's Catholic Church on a weekly basis. She was a loving mother and enjoyed spending time with her family.



Jean is survived by two sons and a daughter in law, Reverend Richard B. Dunn, Ch, Col, USAF (Ret.) of Hamilton, and David J. and Terry Dunn of Mattydale, a grandson, Ian Dunn, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Myrna Stevenson.



A mass of Christian burial will be held Friday at 10:30 AM at St. Paul's Church with Father Richard B. Dunn as the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.



Relatives and friends may call at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday.
