Janice Hall, 87, of Rome, passed away on November 11, 2011, in Rome Memorial Hospital with her loving family by her side.



She was born on February 16, 1924, the daughter of Charles and Hazel Greene. She graduated from the Excelsior School of Business in 1942. On June 10, 1947, she was united in marriage to Everett F. Hall at Zion Episcopal Church and they enjoyed 64 years together. She retired from work as a secretary after many years at Griffiss Air Force Base, and was a longtime member of Zion Church and the Queen Esther Rebekah Lodge. Janice was totally devoted to her family, loved knitting and reading and travelled with Everett several times a year to visit their children across the country.



Janice is survived by her husband Everett, three daughters Patricia Glasrud of Shoreview, Minnesota; Carol Yanez (Manny) of Pembroke Pines, Florida; and Susan Sottile (Joe) of Portland, Oregon; a nephew, Matthew Sottile (Karen) of Oregon, three nieces, Kim Cates (Matt) and Kristen Norton (Mike) of Florida, and Leah Preston (Joe) of Spokane, Washington; one great grandson, Ethan Cates and three great granddaughters, Mackenzie Cates, and Olivia and Isabella Norton. She is also survived by her brother, Dr. Lynn Greene (Margaret) of Fayetteville, sister-in-law Rosie Hall, and many nieces and nephews.



She was preceded in death by her parents.



There will be a calling hour at Barry Funeral Home, 807 West Chestnut Street, Rome, NY at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 15 with the funeral service immediately following at 2:00. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.



In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association, Central New York Chapter, 441 West Kirkpatrick Street, Syracuse, NY 13204.



The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the caregivers at The Terrace At Woodland for helping Janice and Everett feel comfortably at home over the past two years.
