Evans, age 70, of Rome, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2022, at Rome Health, after a lengthy illness.Janice was born in Utica on January 11, 1952 to the late Edmund and Otilia Zawada Glinecki, and graduated from Utica Free Academy. She received her Associate’s Degree from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in Interior Design and Chef Training Certificate from MVCC. On June 2, 2001, she was united in marriage to Shawn Evans. Janice worked as a customer service agent at Piedmont Airlines and U.S. Airways for 25 years.Janice enoyed cooking and baking, and traveling with family and friends.Janice is survived by her loving husband, Shawn; her step-daughter, Michelle (Chad) Levelle; her grandchildren, Riley and Alexis; her sisters, Erena (Ron) Figler, and Jacq (Charles Vandersluys) Baldini; her niece, Rachael (Mark) Fanelli; her great-niece Adriana; her special friends, Leida and Gene Furmanski and their daughter, Gena; and several cousins.Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022 at 5 PM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Rome Cemetery on Saturday at 10 AM.Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 5 PM prior to the funeral.
