James V. Vittorello
James V. Vittorello, age 77, of N.George Street, passed away July 7, 2010, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center, with his loving family at his side.
He was born December 14, 1932, in Rome, a son of James V. and Lena Carnevale, and graduated from St. Aloysius Academy, Utica School of Commerce and Utica College. Jim was united in marriage to the former Anne Dunham, on November 10, 1956, in Berkeley springs, W. VA. He was a former accountant at Griffiss Air Force Base and later became a substitute teacher at Rome Free Academy and Utica College. He also assisted many families complete their income tax returns for many years. He proudly served in the U. S. Navy.
James is survived by his loving wife, Anne; a daughter and son in law, Beth and Rich Bottini of Lake Wiley, SC; grandchildren Erin Rivkind, Bryson Bottini, Kelly McManus and Bailey Bottini; great grandchildren Gretchen and Riley Koons; Brother in law M.A. "Dunny" Dunham of Ormond, Fl; sister in law Helen Vittorello of Rome; several nieces and nephews and a special friend Eugene Grecco of Marcy. James is predeceased by his daughter Suzanne Vittorello McManus and his brother Albert Vitterello.
James was the best dad that anyone could ever have and he will surely be missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 8:15 AM from the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, and 9:00 AM, at the Church of St. John the Baptist. Burial will be St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Friday 4 to 8 PM.
