Hildenbrandt, Sr., age 61, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2023, at Crouse Hospital with his family by his side.James was born in Rome on January 16, 1962 to Gordon and Noraine Burkhart Hildenbrandt, and educated in the Rome Schools. On July 10, 2004, he was united in marriage to the former Billie Jo Megerell in Melbourne, FL. James worked as a supervisor for IBM in Auburn, NY. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed spending time with his family.James is survived by his loving wife, Billie Jo; daughters, Sarah Hildenbrandt of Rome, Angeline Hildenbrandt, Jennifer (Randy) Smith, and Cassandra (Rusty) Smith all of Taberg; son, James Hildenbrandt Jr. of Taberg, and Christopher Hildenbrandt of Rome; many grand and great grandchildren; mother, Noraine; brothers, Scott (Brenda) Hildenbrandt of Boonville, Steven (Christa) Hildenbrandt of Rome, David Hildenbrandt of Rome, Daniel (Kelly) Hildenbrandt of Taberg, and Douglas (Jannette) Hildenbrandt of Taberg; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Gordon; brother, Jack “Paul;” and sisters, Bethann Holbrook, and Mary Rose Hildenbrandt.James’s funeral will be held on Thursday, at 10 AM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM.
