Ingrid Foxwell, age 70, of Floyd, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at home.
She was born May 4, 1939, in Trunheim, Norway, a daughter of Arne and Anna Johansen Reitan. Ingrid was united in marriage to James F. Foxwell, on September 14, 1963; he died July 2, 1996.
Ingrid was employed at Griffiss Air Force Base for many years in the Tailor Shop. She later took on sewing as a hobby along with cooking and traveling. She was a good listener and always willing to help other people; everyone enjoyed her company. She was a long time member of the Sons of Norway Scandinavian Club, and a devoted member of the First Assembly of God Church.
Ingrid is survived by four children and their spouses, James M. Foxwell of Arizona, Karen and Toby Bedenbaugh of South Carolina, Kristi and Jeff Johnson of Floyd, and Erik and Stephanie Foxwell of Floyd; grandsons, Andy, Brandon, Carson and Nolan; a brother and sister in law, Fred and Jean Reitan of Colorado; and two nieces.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM at the First Assembly of God Church in Marcy. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, Rome, Friday 4 to 7 PM.
