Harold J. Cadrette, age 82, of Rome-Westernville Road, passed away August 16, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
He was born June 7, 1928, in Lee Center, a son of Clarence and Lila Hornert Cadrette, and educated in Rome schools. Harold served for many years as an Oneida County Deputy Sheriff and later with the U.S. Marshal's office in Utica. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy.
Harold is survived by a daughter, Ruthann Cadrette and fiance´, Thomas Donley of Verona; two sons and a daughter in law, Steve Cadrette and companion, Mary Anne Swerden of Rome, and Gary and Deborah Cadrette of Farmington; two sisters and a brother in law, Joyce and Adolph Siegfried of Lee Center, and Marion Gecosky of Orlando, FL; a brother, Edward Cadrette of Rome; six grandchildren, Holly Green, Matthew Cadrette, Chris Stedman, Carrie Stedman, Michael Stedman and Desirra Stedman; and a great granddaughter, Naomi Green. He was predeceased by a daughter, Gwendolyn, and a sister, Florence Gecosky.
The funeral service will be held, Friday at 2:30 PM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Friday, 12 noon to 2:30 PM prior to the funeral service.
