Gloria J. Stawiarz, age 68, of Rome, passed away peacefully July 7, 2011, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, with her loving family at her side.
She was born March 8, 1943, in Washington, D.C., a daughter of William L. II and Eleanora Koontz Kiker. She graduated from Rome Free Academy. Gloria was united in marriage to Stephen W. Stawiarz, on August 14, 1965, at the Griffiss Air Force Base Chapel.
Although Gloria was a stay at home mother, she still found time to volunteer countless hours at the American Red Cross and other Family Service organizations over the years. She found great reward in helping others.
Gloria is survived by her husband, Stephen; a son and daughter in law, Stephen and Lisa Stawiarz of Land O' Lakes, FL; two sisters and a brother in law, Patricia Kiker Willsey of Plantation, FL, and Delores and Jerry Perry of Valrico, FL; three brothers and sisters in law, William and Jean Kiker of Fayetteville, NC, Charles and Margaret Kiker of Valrico, FL, and Randall and Vicki Kiker of Valrico, FL; grandchildren, Jake H. Morgan, Christian J. Stawiarz and Trey S. W. Stawiarz; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a son, Mark Christian Stawiarz and her parents.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
