Gloria H. Brooke, age 82, of Stokes-Lee Center Road, passed away July 16, 2009, at home after a long illness.
She was born August 30, 1926, in Utica, a daughter of Leslie P. and Helen M. Van Nort Budlong, and educated in Waterville schools. Gloria was united in marriage to Charles S. Brooke, in 1961, in Sylvester, GA; he died September 25, 2001. Gloria established Family Home Care in 1989, which serves much of New York and part of Pennsylvania. She was Catholic.
Gloria is survived by a daughter and son in law, Leslie and John Von Dauber of Earlville; two sons, Michael A. Brooke of Chandler, AZ, and Randall C. Brooke of Lee Center; a brother and sister in law, Charles and Alice Budlong of Waterville; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by sisters and brothers.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 AM at St. Bernard's Cemetery, Waterville.
Relatives and friends may call at Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, Rome, Tuesday 7 to 9 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association of CNY.
