Geraldine Soboleski, 101, of Clearwater, FL, formerly of Rome, passed away December 12, 2010.
She was born to John and Emma Roth in Taberg, NY in October of 1909. She married Stuart Sherwood in Toms River, NJ and was widowed in 1957. Three years later, she married Mike Soboleski in Rome, NY and moved to Clearwater in 1963. She belonged to the Fidelis Class of Rome. She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church, Clearwater and the Clearwater Garden Club.
She is survived by a daughter, Gladys Sherwood, Washington. Two sons, Donald Sherwood of Rome, NY and Roger Sherwood, Florida. A daughter-in-law Joan Sherwood, Camden, NY. A special niece Beverly (Jim) Meagher, Florence, NY She has 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Dale Sherwood and daughter-in-law Wilma Sherwood.
Jerry, loved to meet people and travel. Her travels included a special trip with her late sister, Delight Pelton, to their parent's homeland of Switzerland. She enjoyed arts and crafts, reading and reciting poetry she memorized in high school. She always looked for the 'silver lining' and was an inspiration to all who met her.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery.
