View Tribute Book Gene Harold Dare Sr, 80, of Westernville, passed away August 9th, 2021, at Upstate Hospital. He was born in Pittsgrove, NJ, on June 18th, 1941, to his parents Louise and Loren Dare. He lived most of his life in Daretown, NJ, before moving to NY to be near his family.  Gene is survived by his only son Gene Dare Jr and his two grandchildren Paige and Bryce Dare. He was predeceased by his siblings and his wife, Sara. Gene was many things in his life: a devoted spouse, a loving father, a baseball coach, an NJ firearms instructor, a hunter, a fisherman, and a United States Marine. However, one of his favorite roles was being a grandfather. Friends and family are invited to call on Saturday the 21st from 10 am until12 pm, with the service immediately following officiated by Pastor Donna Schonewetter. All events celebrating his life will be held at the North Western United Methodist Church, 9925 State Route 46, North Western, NY.
