Francis Leo Lappin, age 87, of Taberg, passed away April 24, 2011, at home, with his loving family at his side.
He was born October 24, 1923, in Rome, the son of Leo and Mary Clemence Lappin, and educated in Taberg and Camden schools. Francis was united in marriage to the former Shirley "Bobbie" Moster, on October 19, 1946, in St. Mary's Church. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy, in the Pacific Theater from 1942 to 1946. He retired from Revere Copper and Brass, after 44 years, in 1985. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church and the Holy Name Society, Meeker-O'Rourke American Legion, Taberg and the Annsville Friendship Club.
Francis was predeceased by his beloved wife Bobbie, of 64 years. He is survived by his three sons and daughters in law, Dan and Sasa of Oregon, Michael and Marcia of Cazenovia, and Patrick and Mary of Cicero; four grandchildren, Craig and Mandi Lappin of Florida, Nikki and Justin Franklin of Washington, Jessica and Brian Petranchuk of Brewerton, and John Lappin of Cicero; three step-grandchildren, Jen, Ryan and Kevin Joslin; four great grandchildren, Jayden, Noah, Marley and Eden. He also is survived by a sister, Sally Gymburch, several nieces and nephews and special relatives and neighbors, Kevin Cook, Nanci Lappin, the Wall Family and the Paddington Family.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 9:30 AM from the Barry Funeral Home, 807 w. Chestnut Street, and 10:30 AM at St. Patrick's Church, Taberg. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday 4 to 7 PM.
In lieu of flowers and Mass cards, contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care.
