Frances I. "Bauerle" Dewey

Frances I. Dewey, age 90, of Rome, passed away August 10, 2012, at Faxton-St Luke's Healthcare Center.



She was born September 22, 1921, in Utica, a daughter of Hermann Bauerle and Minnie Bauerle Evans, and graduated from Rome Free Academy. Frances was united in marriage to Thomas S. Dewey, on June 6, 1942, in St. Mary of the Assumption Church; he died August 14, 1976. She was the former housekeeper and cook at St. Peter's Convent in Rome.



Frances is survived by two daughters and a son in law, Pamela (Dewey) and Michael Schilling of Andover, MN, and Cindy (Dewey) Markham of Ballston Lake, NY; two sons and daughters in law, Thomas P. and Faye Dewey of Kenly, NC, and Richard P. and Barb Dewey of Rochester, NY; three sisters and two brothers in law, Marion Phillips of Marcy, NY, Dot and Bennie Diliberto of Rome, and Betty and Mitchell Maichak of Del City, OK; 9 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters, Catherine Magliocca and Minnie Catherine Bauerle.



Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service Thursday, at 11:30 AM, at St. Peter's Cemetery.

There are no calling hours.



Memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society of Rome, St. Mary's/St. Peter's Church Memorial Fund or Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, Latham, New York.
