Everett F. Hall, age 95, of Rome, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2016 at Rome Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness.



Everett was born on January 12, 1921 in Stokes to the late Lambert and Lillian (Streun) Hall. He was educated in the Rome schools. On November 11, 1942, he enlisted into the U.S. Army during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1945 and on June 10, 1947, he was united in marriage to the former Janice G. Greene at the Zion Church in Rome; a blessed union of 64 years until her passing on November 11, 2011. Everett worked as a machinist at Rome Manufacturing. He was a member of the Lee American Legion in Lee Center.



Everett is survived by two daughters and sons in law, Carol and Manny Yanez of Pembroke Pines, FL, and Susan and Joseph Sottile of Beaverton, OR; grandchildren, Kim and Matt Cates, Kristen and Mike Norton; Matthew and Karen Sottile, and Leah and Joe Preston; great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Ethan, Olivia, and Isabella; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Glasrud and eight siblings.



The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the caregivers at the Terrace at Woodland, for the wonderful care they gave Everett and Janice over the past six years. Also, a special thanks to his nephew, Dan Hall for all his support and assistance.



Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in the spring.



Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 10 to 11 AM, prior to the service.



In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lee American Legion, Lee Center
