Esther Roser "Olin" Woodard

Esther Roser Woodard, age 94, of Rome, and formerly of Altmar, passed away March 19, 2010.
She was born February 15, 1916, in Orwell, NY, a daughter of Benjamin and Nellie Pinner Olin, and graduated from Altmar High School, attended Houlton College and graduated from Oswego School of Nursing. She formerly worked as a nursing supervisor at the Valehaven Nursing Home in Camden. Esther previously was married to Wilfred Roser, she later married Harold Woodard; both are now deceased. She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Bradenton, FL.
Esther lived most of her life in the Altmar and Redfield areas. She enjoyed doing genealogy studies and historical studies of the area and was a co-founding member of the Richland Historical Society.
Esther is survived by a daughter and son in law, Carole and Jospeh Valvo of Rome; two sons and daughters in law, Richard and Linda Roser, who still own and operate the original family farm in Altmar, and Ronald and Pat Roser of Rome; 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
Graveside services at Richland Cemetery will be held at a later date. There are no calling hours.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
