Esther Eloise Greeney Decker of Lee Center, NY passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Upstate Medical University, Syracuse NY. She became seriously ill while vacationing in Cali, Colombia.
Esther was born in Rome New York on May 10, 1939, the daughter of late Harrison M. and Teresa Soriano Greeney. She married Albert J. Decker, Sr. (Pat) on February 11, 1956 in Waterville, New York. Esther was employed for several years at Rome Manufacturing. She obtained her education through Mohawk Valley Community College. Esther loved to travel and spend time in Europe as well as Central and South America. During the winter season she and her sister Carol vacationed in Costa Rica. Esther volunteered her spare time providing English as a second language to her foreign friends and young children.
Esther is predeceased by her husband and parents, along with four brothers, C. Lewis, John and Robert Greeney, and James Reed; and two sisters Cynthia A. Morgan and Faith E. Hort. She leaves behind her two sons, Albert J Decker Jr (Kedoe) and Alan F. Decker; two daughters, Claudia L. Decker and boyfriend Frank Paine, and Robin Lalonde; grandchildren, AJ and wife, Toni Decker, Sarah M. Decker, Allisha and husband, Duke Patnode, Aaron France and girlfriend, Kayla Mellor; her seven beloved great grandsons who were referred to as her "boys"; her three sisters, Mary V. Bonney, Carol J. Bingley, and Linda J Losurdo; two brothers, Keith F. and Ronald M. Greeney; and over thirty foster children, numerous cousins, and very special nieces and nephews, and step grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 10 AM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, Rome NY 13440. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
