Elizabeth Ann Edmondson
Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Edmondson, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital.
Mrs. Edmondson was born in Dublin, Ireland, and came to America in 1954, arriving in New York City, where she worked for the New York Telephone Company, which eventually became Verizon Communications. She started as a telephone operator and rose to the position of Personnel Manager, in mid-town Manhattan, retiring in 1980. She was a member of St. Paul's Church in Rome, and was a dedicated religious education instructor at St. Paul's Church and St. Mary's Church in Oneonta
Elizabeth raised two children, James Boyan of New Milford, CT, and Carmel Sullivan of Rome. In addition to being a caring and devoted mother, she also was a loving wife to her husband of 54 years, John Edmondson.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband, John; a son and daughter in law, James and Diane Boyan; a daughter, Carmel; two grandsons and their wives and families, Timothy and Erin Sullivan, and Terence and Kristin Sullivan, and five great grandchildren, John Sullivan, James Sullivan, Kate Sullivan, Maggie Sullivan and Eamon Sullivan.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM from Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, and at 11:30 AM at St. Paul's Church. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Thursday 5 to 8 PM.
