Obituary

Edward W. Lubecki (Lubeck) Jr., 93, of Lee, passed away peacefully at Rome Health on Monday, May 25, 2026.

Born on September 8, 1932, in Rome, a graduate of RFA, was the son of late Edward Sr. and Pauline Kierpiec Lubecki. On May 15, 1954, he married the love of his life, former Beverley Mullaney, at Transfiguration Church.

Ed proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1952-1956. He continued his service to his community as a Griffiss Air Force Base firefighter for 20 years, retiring in 1987. Also, he was a 64-year parishioner at St. Joseph's Church in Lee Center, NY.

Ed loved his God, his family, coffee/donuts, 1962 Chevy Bel Air, Boston Red Sox, his boat and fishing!

He is survived by his loving wife, Bev of 72 years, sons Mark Lubeck of Stanwix, Randy (Margaret) Lubeck of Poland; his sister, Cathy (Paul) Spargo of Alabama; his beloved grandchildren (12) and great grandchildren (15); as well as many nieces and nephews. Ed was predeceased by his brothers Paul, Ben, and Joe, and his sister, Christine Lubeck.

Mass was held at St. Joseph's Church. Burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery.

The entire family would like to thank Colonial Park Nursing Home in Rome, NY for the care and compassion shown to Ed during his stay. Rest in peace, Ed!
