Edna M. Ovitt, age 92, of the Eastern Star Home, Oriskany, NY, and formerly of Long Lake, NY, passed away peacefully June 19, 2013.
She was born May 20, 1921, the daughter of the late Clarence and Mabel Henderson Rice. Edna was united in marriage to Harvard Ovitt on August 23, 1941, in Long Lake, NY.
Edna is survived by a daughter, Marilyn (Raymond) Nutting of South Carolina; daughter in law, Laura Williams of North Carolina; sister in law, Terri Rice of Canton, NY; grandchildren, Michael and Chris Jablon, Traci Nelson, Stephanie Nutting Gastelbondo and Nell Ovitt; great grandchildren, Jacob and Sam Gastelbondo; a special cousin, Betty Sylvester and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Harvard Ovitt, son, James Ovitt and a daughter, Judith Joblon.
A Memorial service will be held at the Calvary United Methodist Church, State Route 30, Long Lake, NY, on June 29, 2013 at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at Long Lake Cemetery.
There are no calling hours.
