Edna Belle Klis, age 76, of Rome, passed away peacefully August 30, 2014, with her loving family at her side.
She was born September 25, 1937, in Homer, NY, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Grace Brown Green, and graduated from Westmoreland High School. Edna was formerly married to Frederick Klis. She was a former owner of the Cloverleaf Motel in Westmoreland.
Edna is survived by two daughters and a son in law, Linda and Richard Fitsik of Rome, and Debra Acee of Rome; two sons and a daughter in law, Joseph and Donna Klis of Westmoreland, and John Klis of Rome; three sisters, Ruth Januchowski of Clark Mills, Elesa Stoddard of Clark Mills, and Leslie Green of Westmorland; three brothers, Thomas Green of Clark Mills, Edward Green of Florida, and John Green of New London; a special friend, John Tarkowski; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by 5 brothers.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 7:00 PM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, Burial will be in Westmoreland Cemetery on Thursday at 10:30 AM.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Wednesday 4 to 7 PM, prior to the funeral service.
