Mrs. Dorothy Nelson Prossner, age 80, formally of Rome, NY, and most recently living in Cedar Park, TX, passed away on October 18, 2011.
Dottie, the daughter of Wesley and Lottie Nelson was born in Clark Mills, NY, on May 11, 1931. She was a graduate of Clinton High School, class of 1949. She married Theodore O. Prossner on April 24,1954 in the Church of the Annunciation in Clark Mills, NY and they settled in Rome. She was a devoted mother, especially to her youngest son Teddy, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Theodore , siblings Woody Nelson, Doug Nelson, Shirley Cotter, Joyce Nelson, and Jack Nelson. She is survived by her daughter Sally Prossner of Rome, NY; her son Kurt Prossner and his wife Drue of Cedar Park, TX; and son Teddy Prossner. She also leaves her grandchildren, Thomas Foster and Natalie, Garrett, and Kendall Prossner and sister Florence Ryan and husband Francis of upstate NY.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 11:00 AM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery
