Donna M. Wilcox, 70, of Westernville, passed away Friday, September 18, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born November 3, 1944, in Syracuse, a daughter of Charles and Shirley Coates. Donna enjoyed being a homemaker, and was an avid reader. She also loved animals especially cats, and is known for her many years of rescuing stray and abandoned cats.
Donna is survived by her husband of 53 years, Klein Wilcox, Jr.; four daughters, Laurie (Mike Marshall, Jr) Schuyler, Diana (Lowell) McConnell, Cynthia (Brian) VanOrmer, and Betsy (Reginald) Card; two sons, Patrick (Lori) Wilcox and Timothy (Lisa Weir) Wilcox; two brothers, Thomas and Charles Coates; 24 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; a son Michael P. Wilcox in 1994; and a brother, Robert C. Coates.
The family offers heartfelt thanks to Eric and Chrissy Stalnaker, and the staff at Rome Memorial Hospital for their care, compassion and friendship extended to Donna.
A graveside service will be held tomorrow, September 22, 2015, at 11:30 AM at Carmichael Hill Cemetery, Westernville.
A celebration of Donna's life will be held at the Town Park of Western, in Westernville, immediately following the graveside service.
