Donald P. "Wild Man" Wilson, age 76, of the Town of Floyd, passed away peacefully at home on March 23, 2025, with his loving family by his side.
He was born on October 13, 1948, in Red Bank, NJ to the late Paul and Leefa Winner Wilson. On July 20, 1974, he was united in marriage to the former Linda Overrocker. Don worked for United Technology as a machinist. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed cutting wood. He was a handyman and could be occasionally found tending to the landscaping around his home.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his daughters, Yvonne (Rob) Piperata of Utica, and Sherry (Matt Thompson) Wilson of Rome; his son, Todd Wilson of Floyd; his grandchildren, Brooke, Haleigh, Steven, Aleah, Gia, Avery, and Alex; his brother, Denny Wilson; his sister in law, Diana Wilson; his K-9 companion, Lucy; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandson, Dakotah Wilson; his daughter in law, Mary Rose Wilson; and brother, Marc Wilson.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Hospice for their care and support shown to Don during his final days.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, on Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 12 Noon to 2 PM. A funeral service will follow at 2 PM. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Donald's memory to Hospice and Palliative Care, 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, NY 13413.
