Donald G. Hall, age 69, of Rome, passed away August 10, 2010, at University Hospital in Syracuse, after a brief illness.
He was born June 13, 1941, in Clovis, New Mexico, a son of Raymond and Jewell Tiffin Hall, and graduated from Portales High School in 1959 and Eastern New Mexico University in 1963. Don was united in marriage to the former Janet Marie Carlini, on June 13, 1964 in Raton, New Mexico. He was a physical scientist at Rome Labs for 34 years, retiring in 1998.
Don was an avid golfer and was a member of Rome Country Club for over 20 years. He enjoyed the many friends he made while playing in the Monday and Thursday Golf leagues. The true joy of his life was golfing with his wife and sons. The true light of his life was his new granddaughter, Addison. Don also enjoyed building and collecting model airplanes and boats.
Don is survived by his wife, Janet; two sons and a daughter in law, David B. and Danielle Hall of Syracuse, and Jonathan T. Hall of Colorado Springs, CO; a sister and brother in law, Joan and Paul Esch of Levelland, TX; a sister and brother in law, Gary and Diane Hall of Tuscon, AZ; and a cherished granddaughter, Addison Hall.
Relative and friends may call at Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, Saturday 4 to 7 PM.
A memorial service will be held in New Mexico at the convenience of the family.
