David L. "Dave" Beach

David L. Beach, Sr., age 57, of Rome, passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side, on October 27, 2010, after a long battle with cancer.



He was born April 1, 1953, in Rome, a son of Douglas, Sr. and Ann Angelicchio Beach, and graduated from Rome Free Academy. David was united in marriage to the former Mary Jo Dote in 1984. He previously was employed at NAPA Underhood as a district sales manager until his illness in December 2009.



Dave loved riding his Harley, the many trips with his family and friends, NASCAR races, but mostly, spending time with his family. Dave was an incredibly considerate husband, a doting father, a loving son and brother, and a loyal friend.



Special thanks to all our family and friends, Dr. Warfel and Sandy Gaetano, who stood by us and supported us during David's illness.



David is survived by his wife, Mary Jo; his mother, Ann; his children, David Beach, Darrick Beach, Jennifer Beach and fiance´e, Christopher Brillante and Morgan Beach; a brother and sister in law, Douglas and Kathy Beach; sisters, Diane Hughes and John Pepper, and Debra Beach and Shawn Walters; nephews, Douglas Beach III, and Benjamin Hughes; and many special friends. He was predeceased by his father, Douglas Beach, Sr.



The funeral service will be held Saturday at 7:00 PM at Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.



Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Saturday 4 to 7 PM, prior to the funeral service.



Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice and Palliative Care.
