Christopher M. Hildenbrandt, age 45, of Rome, passed away unexpectedly, on March 12, 2026, as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Chris was born in Rome on October 1, 1980, to Tammi Chuff and James Hildenbrandt, Sr. and graduated from RFA. He was a self-employed carpenter and also worked alongside his brother, Jim, at J&L Paving and Sealcoating. Chris enjoyed the freedom of the outdoors whether it was on his motorcycle or snowmobile. He valued loyalty above all else and had a deep love for his family.Chris was also a collector of antiques, coins, and baseball cards. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Chris is survived by his mother, Tammi (Thomas) Stedman; his children, Isabella Hildenbrandt, Jayden Hildenbrandt, Angelito Hildenbrandt, Gysella Casler, and Braylynn Williams; his siblings, James Hildenbrandt Jr., Sarah Hildenbrandt, and Angeline Hildenbrandt; his step-brother, Joshua Thompson; his beloved nieces and nephews, Keanna, Stephan, Evan, Ryan, Sierra, Makayla, Nicholas, Ulissia, Marissa, and Eleeciya; and many great nieces and nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father James Hildenbrandt Sr.

Chris' funeral will be held on Wednesday, at 6 PM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in the spring.

Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 3 to 6 PM prior to the funeral.
