Christine Marie Blaich, age 66, of Stearns Road, Rome, passed away September 19, 2009, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center, with her loving family at her side.
She as born April 10, 1943, in Utica, a daughter of Anton and Maria Huegen Bauer, and graduated from Utica Free Academy. Christine was united in marriage to Raymond S. Blaich, on October 24, 1964, in Deansboro. She was formerly employed at the Eastern Star Home.
Christine's family was her life. She was a proud Air Force wife and volunteered in Air Force Wives organizations in support of military families. She was former President of the NCO Wives Club.
Christine is survived by her husband, Raymond; a daughter , Michelle Blaich and Kevin Torchia of Rome; a son, Richard Blaich of Omaha, NE; her mother in law, Donna Blaich of Fairfield, CA; two brothers, William Bauer of Rome, and Ted Bauer of Syracuse; grandchildren, Rebecca, Robert and Renae Blaich, and Kayla and Kevin, Jr Torchia; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two daughters, Jennifer and Deborah.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 7:00 PM at Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Floyd Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Wednesday 5 to 7PM, prior to the funeral service.
