Charles "Barney" Streiff, age 89, of Town of Lee, passed away May 26, 2010, at home, with his loving family at his side.
He was born April 23, 1921, in Lafayette, NY, a son of Gabriel and Bertha Howe Streiff, and educated in Ava schools. Charles formerly worked at Revere Copper and Brass and later worked for the Town of Lee, and retired after several years of service.
Charles is survived by a daughter, Leona Wagner of Vienna; a son, John "Jack" Streiff of Town of Lee; two sisters and brothers in law, Clara Rose and Clifford Kotary of Floyd, and Margaret and James Mullen of Stittville; 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including special niece and nephew, Butch and Robert Grems; and his canine pal, "Jake". He was predeceased by a daughter, Margaret Douglas; a sister, Elsie Brooks; and three brothers, Herman, Bill and Elmer Streiff.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM, at Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Saturday from 11 AM to 2 PM, prior to the funeral service.
