Cecelia V. Harris, age 85, of Rome, passed away April 20, 2012, at Rome Memorial Hospital, with her family at her side.
She was born January 25, 1927, in Bloomingdale, NY, a daughter of Joseph and Alice Gregory Morency, and educated in Bloomingdale schools. Cecelia was united in marriage to Donald Harris on November 23, 1946; he died in November 1978. She worked at the NYS School for the Deaf, retiring after many years of service. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church.
Cecelia is survived by a daughter, Yvonne Harris of Rome; three sons and two daughters in law, Jerry Harris of Rome, Randolph and Judy Harris of Rome, and Ronald and Corrine Harris of Rome; a sister, Betty Bruso of Massachusetts; and several grand and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by sisters and brothers.
A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday at 10:30 AM at St. Mary of the Assumption Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
There are no calling hours.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
