Carole "Berger" Glinski

d. August 28, 2009

Carole Berger Glinski, 67 of Rome, New York Died 28 August, 2009 from natural causes.

Carole was born October 2, 1941 to Hyman and

Phyllis Berger in the Bronx, NY.

She married Charles S. Glinski in Las Vegas, NV on April 4, 1969 and recently celebrated 40 fabulous years of marriage with Chuck.

Carole and Charles raised 3 daughters, Tamara Glinski (engaged to Jeff Becker), Samantha Weeks, and Dana Greenberg. She is survived by her husband, daughters, and brother--Stephen Berger. Her death was predeceased by that of her parents and sister, Beverly Berger Greenberg. A special person in Carole's life was her "adopted" daughter, Della Pray who is a blessing to her family and was a necessity to Carole's work.

Carole was most known in Rome for her service to the community, military, and the Red Cross. She served as the director of the Rome area chapter of the American Red Cross for 21 years and retired in 2008. Many people around town will remember her for the fort-to-fort run, thanksgiving baskets, assisting fire victims, blood drives, or support to the military community of Griffiss Air Force base and Griffiss Park. But Carole's service to country and community did not begin with the Red Cross, but started with her service to the air force as a government employee in public affairs. She worked in public affairs in Virginia, Hawaii, California, and the United Kingdom.

The Glinski family will have a memorial service at Barry Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at 5pm with a reception at the Beeches immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Rome Free Academy JROTC fund or the Madison-Oneida Chapter of the American Red Cross are appreciated.
