Carol A. Meyers, 64 years old, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2013, at her home with her loving family by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer.



Carol was born on January 3, 1949 in Rome, NY, daughter of Henry and Eileen Willson. She attended Holland Patent Central Schools and obtained her New York State Beautician's License from Mohawk Beauty School, Rome, NY. She owned and operated Carol's Beauty Shoppe for 44 years until her retirement in March 2012. She also worked as a beautician for Pounder Hall in Oriskany, NY. On January 28, 1967, she was united in marriage with Robert K. Meyers at Saint Patrick's Catholic Church, Taberg, NY. She loved her job and enjoyed all of her customers, making many friends along the way. Carol also worked for several years at Yaworski's Resturant with her brother and sister in law Charles and Amelia Meyers. She was a member of the St. Joseph's Church in Lee Center.



Carol took great pride in her flower gardens and loved to be outdoors. Carol loved and cherished her family more than anything and enjoyed making her families' holidays special. She was a loyal and loving wife, mother and grandmother and she will be missed beyond words.



Surviving besides her husband Bob of 46 years, are her daughter and son-in-law, Lori and William Flint, Ava; her son a daughter-in-law, Daniel and Lisa Meyers, Rome, NY; four grandchildren, Kelsey Flint, Danielle Meyers, Matthew Meyers and Jordan Hadsell; a brother and sister in law, Joseph and Peggy Willson; a sister and brother in law, Leona and Dale Scott of Ava; many dear nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; three brothers in law, Paul Meyers of FL, Bernie Meters of Rome, and Tom Meyers of Lee Center; three sisters in law and a brother in law, Pat Turner of Lee Center, Kathleen and James Lindsay of Schenectady, and Agnes Meyers of Camden. She was predeceased by five brothers in law, Donald, Allen, Arnold, James and Charles; and three sisters in law, Amelia Meyers, Jane Meyers and Carol Sellman.



The Meyers family would like to thank all of the staff at Hospice Care for all the care and support they gave to Carol and her family. Thank you so much!



Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM from the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, and a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Church in Lee Center. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Taberg.



Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 3 to 7 PM.



Contributions may be made in her memory to Hospice Care, Inc. or St. Joseph's Church.
