Carol S. Johnson, age 77, of Rome, passed away peacefully at home on June 1, 2019, surrounded by her family.



She was born December 13, 1941, in Freeport, Long Island, the daughter of the late William and Margaret Boriotti Schwarting. Carol was united in marriage to Richard Johnson Jr., on May 23, 1980, in Rome. She worked for many years as a sales representative for New York Telephone Co. She was a member of St. Mary's/St. Peter's Parish and the Telephone Pioneers Club.



Carol's first love was her family. However, she always enjoyed flower gardening, hitting the garage sales, and collecting antiques and old treasures.



Carol is survived by her husband, Rick; a daughter, Kristen M. Johnson of Rome; three sons and two daughters in law, Jeffrey S. and Deb LeFevre of Apex, NC, Eric P. LeFevre of Dorchester, MA, and Richard III and Allison Johnson of Rome; grandchildren, Kailey McCarthy, Luke LeFevre, Richard Johnson IV, Julieann Dubonnet and Addison Johnson.



A Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated by Rev. Philip A. Hearn, will be held Thursday at 10:30



AM, at St. Peter's Church. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in the Town of Lee.



Relatives and friends may call at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, Wednesday 4 to 7 PM.



The family wishes to sincerely thank the staff of Hospice, especially Natalie, for their care, compassion and friendship extended to Carol during her illness.



Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Oneida, Herkimer and Eastern Madison Counties.
