Candace C. Willson, age 72, of the Town of Ava, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2026, at the Wynn Hospital.

Candace was born in Rome on September 2, 1954, to the late Joseph and Elberta Backus Beasock, and educated in the Rome Schools. On July 12, 1974, she was united in marriage to Roger Willson. She worked as a healthcare worker for the Marcy Psychiatric Center.

Candace had a love for horses, photography and treasured her collection of photographs and memories. She was skilled with computers and had a deep curiosity about science, especially the beauty and mystery of the stars.

Candace is survived by her husband, Roger; her daughter, Christel (Grant Russell) Willson; her grandchildren, Slater Atreyu, Jensen James, and Minerva Ivy; and her brothers, Eugene (Beth) Beasock, and Joseph (Peggy) Beasock, Jr.

Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, from 4 to 6 PM.
